The Diploma of Work Health and Safety is the minimum qualification requirement for any WHS Manager, HR Manager, Project Manager, Factory Supervisor, or Business Owner with the responsibility for compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
This course is designed for individuals who coordinate and maintain the work health and safety (WHS) program/system within an organisation. It will provide participants with the opportunity to grow their practical knowledge and skills in the development, implementation and management of these programs/systems.
5-day intensive workshop with pre-course readings and online assessment and post-course workbook

Self-paced in your own time at work or at home. Participants will also need access to a workplace to enable completion of assessments
This course is aimed at people who work, or wish to work, as professional Safety Advisors at a workplace. Workers with this qualification would include WHS Practitioners, WHS Supervisors and Managers at both middle and senior management levels. This qualification is suitable for people who coordinate and maintain the work health and safety (WHS) program in an organisation. It reflects the role of practitioners who apply a substantial knowledge base and well-developed skills in a wide variety of WHS contexts.
Entrants must have completed all core units in BSB41415 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent competencies, as listed below:
BSBWHS402 Assist with compliance with WHS laws
BSBWHS403 Contribute to implementing and maintaining WHS consultation and participation processes
BSBWHS404 Contribute to WHS hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control
BSBWHS405 Contribute to implementing and maintaining WHS management systems
BSBWHS406 Assist with responding to incidents
After achieving this qualification, candidates may undertake BSB60615 Advanced Diploma of Work Health and Safety.
This qualification covers the following units of competency:
BSBWHS502 Manage effective WHS consultation and participation processes*
BSBWHS503 Contribute to the systematic management of WHS risk*
BSBWHS504 Manage WHS risks*
BSBWHS505 Investigate WHS incidents*
BSBWHS506 Contribute to developing, implementing and maintaining WHS management systems*
BSBWHS507 Contribute to managing WHS information systems
BSBWHS508 Manage WHS hazards associated with plant
BSBWHS509 Facilitate the development and use of hazard-management tools
BSBWHS510 Contribute to implementing emergency procedures
Participants who demonstrate competency by passing both the theory and practical assessments (for all units as stated above) will receive a Qualification in BSB51315 Diploma of Work Health and Safety issued by Improve Group RTO #31506.
Participants who complete individual units will receive a Statement of Attainment for those units completed.
Participants must complete this course within 12 months of course commencement.
