The Advanced Diploma of WHS is suitable for employees who are within a Human Resource Management role wishing to gain further specialised knowledge in WHS. This qualification is beneficial for employees who have managerial responsibilities within their organisation, wishing to learn more about WHS functions; and participants working within a WHS Consultancy role, wishing to formalise their work experience with a Nationally Accredited Qualification. Job roles and titles vary across different industry sectors, however possible job titles relevant to this qualification include:
- Work Health and Safety Advisor
- Work Health and Safety Auditor
- Work Health and Safety Manager
- Work Health and Safety Risk Officer
- Work Health and Safety Specialist
- Senior Consultant – WHS and Risk Management
Participants will also need access to a workplace to enable completion of assessments. Participants are expected to be currently or recently employed in WHS management or leadership roles.
Entrants must have completed all core units in BSB51315 Diploma of Work Health and Safety or equivalent competencies, as listed below:
BSBWHS502 Manage effective WHS consultation and participation processes
BSBWHS503 Contribute to the systematic management of WHS risk
BSBWHS504 Manage WHS risks
BSBWHS505 Investigate WHS incidents
BSBWHS506 Contribute to developing, implementing and maintaining WHS management systems
A Diploma of OHS to Diploma of WHS Core Units Gap Assessment Workbook can be provided at no extra cost to participants who enrol in Advanced Diploma of WHS. A certified copy of your Diploma of OHS Transcript must be supplied.
After achieving this qualification, candidates may choose to undertake further study such as a Graduate Diploma in WHS or Environmental Health.

BSBWHS601 Apply legislative frameworks for WHS*
BSBWHS602 Facilitate WHS activities*
BSBWHS603 Implement WHS risk management*
BSBWHS604 Evaluate the WHS performance of organisations*
BSBWHS605 Develop, implement and maintain WHS management systems*
BSBWHS606 Conduct a WHS audit
BSBWHS608 Assist with applying occupational hygiene to manage WHS risks
BSBWHS609 Advise on the application of safe design principles to control WHS risks
Participants who demonstrate competency by passing both the theory and practical assessments (for all units as stated above) will receive a Qualification in BSB60615 Advanced Diploma of Work Health and Safety issued by Improve Group RTO #31506.
Participants who complete individual units will receive a Statement of Attainment for those units completed.
Participants must complete this course within 12 months of course commencement.
