Course Overview

MSF30413 Certificate III in Glass and Glazing is a requirement when applying for glazing licences in various states across Australia. There is the option to specialise in either glazing or glass processing, or to choose non-specialised units for a variegated application. This qualification is competency-based, and suitable for those performing both residential and commercial operations.

 Face-to-face

Approximately 2-3 years

Onsite at your workplace, structured workshop attendance, and online

Training delivered through a blended learning model (workshops, onsite and online) scheduled at mutually agreeable times between employer, student and trainer.

QLD $1.60 per nominal hour of training (GUIDE ONLY: Average hours in QLD is approx. 1,000 hours). Subsidies may be available depending on location and eligibility

NSW student fees are charged at a maximum of $2,000, to be determined at enrolment by the Smart and Skilled Eligibility Enquiry Report (this may decrease with RPL or credit transfer)

Full cost will be confirmed in training contract, completed after unit selection, and will be provided before any training commences.

This qualification is suitable for those working as glaziers and/or glass processors in glass and glazing companies. It is aimed at those working ‘on-the-tools,’ and is offered as an apprenticeship or through RPL depending on level of previous experience.

There are no entry requirements for this qualification, although it is expected that participants will have the literacy skills to access and understand underpinning knowledge requirements.

There are 24 units of competency required for the MSF30413 Certificate III in Glass and Glazing. All core units must be completed, along with 1 safety unit and 12 elective units.

MSFGG2001 Use glass and glazing sector hand and power tools
MSFGG2003 Operate glass freefall rack and table
MSFGG2004 Process thin glass by hand
MSFGG2005 Apply basic glass handling
MSFGG2006 Move single glass sheets by mechanical means
MSFGG2007 Process glass by basic machines
MSFGN2001 Make measurements and calculations

The balance of the units is designed in consultation with your management team to ensure that the package maximises the outcomes from an overall business perspective.

Participants who demonstrate competency by passing both the theory and practical assessments (for the complete package of 24 units) will receive a Qualification in MSF30413 Certificate III in Glass and Glazing issued by Improve Group RTO #31506.

Participants who complete individual units will receive a Statement of Attainment for those units completed.
