Course Overview

MSF40413 Certificate IV in Glass and Glazing includes the skills and knowledge required to perform in a range of specialist and/or leadership roles, including sales, scheduling, design, production control and quality assurance functions, in a glass and glazing enterprise. This is a senior qualification with scope for entry from trade and non-trade backgrounds with relevant glass industry experience.

This qualification is suitable for those working in leadership roles in glass and glazing companies, with topics covering sales, scheduling, design, production control and quality assurance functions.

It is expected that participants have completed MSF30413 Certificate III in Glass and Glazing or have achieved equivalent industry experience.

There are 18 units of competency required for the MSF40413 Certificate IV in Glass and Glazing. All core units must be completed, along with 14 elective units from Group A, B, C, D, and E below.

Group B – Production and Scheduling

MSFGG4007 Manage glass processing plant shutdown and restart

Group D – Leading and Supervising

MSFGG4008 Undertake planning and coordination for commercial glazing installation operations
MSS403021 Facilitate a Just in Time system
MSS404050 Undertake process capability improvements
MSS404052 Apply statistics to operational processes
TAEDEL404 Mentor in the workplace
TAEDEL402 Plan, organise and facilitate learning in the workplace

Group E

Up to four relevant units can be chosen from an aligned Certificate III level (maximum 1 unit), Certificate IV level (maximum 4 units) or Diploma level (maximum 1 unit).

Participants who demonstrate competency by passing both the theory and practical assessments (for the selected units from the table above) will receive a Qualification in MSF40413 Certificate IV in Glass and Glazing issued by Improve Group RTO #31506.

Participants who complete individual units will receive a Statement of Attainment for those units completed.
